The employer has not certified to OSHA Citation 2, Item 1, contained in Inspection #1277560 has not been abated. The abatement was required to be completed by 03/14/2018

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  Employee(s) engaged in roofing work were using a ladder to access the roof from the third floor of a building under construction located at 5900 Queens Road, Lawrence, Kansas were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 20 feet due to the portable ladder not extending 3 feet beyond the upper landing surface.  Hernandez Construction LLC d/b/a Geovany Hernandez was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number1256133, citation number 01, item number 02, and was affirmed as a final order on 11/13/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 5325 W. 6th St., Lawrence, KS  66049.
