29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) 113 Columbia Road, In the excavation for building #52, Morristown, NJ. Subcontractor employees were exposed to struck-by and asphyxiation hazards given that they were placing forms along the bases of the excavation's vertical walls and no methods of protection were in use to keep the walls from caving in. Violation observed on or about 10/19/2017.
