29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): The employer did not ensure that portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were be visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket): ReadyJet, Inc. crews working at 5260 Banshee Rd., Hanger 42, Hazelwood, MO 63042: On and before November 15, 2017, the employer did not remove from service two extension cord sets with damaged insulation; one of the cord sets also had a missing ground pin. Employees utilize the flexible cords to power one of two vacuum cleaners which are used on a daily basis to clean the interior of planes. This condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards.
