29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to crystalline silica in excess of the calculated 8-hour time weighted average limits listed in Table Z-3:     On or about November 29, 2017, in the shop area, an employee was grinding granite which contained 51% crystalline quartz and was exposed to silica at a time weighted average of .58 mg/m3.  This level exceeded the adjusted permissible exposure limit of .189 mg/m3 by 3.06 times.  This exposure was derived from samples collected over a 385 minute sampling period on November 29, 2017; exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 95 minutes not sampled.        The Simmons Custom Granite LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.1000(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1178353, citation number 1, item number 6a, and was affirmed as a final order on April 10, 2017 with respect to a workplace located at 5611 Highway 105 W., Conroe, TX  77304.
