29 CFR 1910.95(b)(1): When employees were subjected to sound exceeding those listed in Table G-16, feasible administrative or engineering controls were not utilized: (a) Shucking / Clean Prep Areas - The employer did not utilize feasible administrative or engineering controls for employees having noise exposures in excess of 90 dBAs: On April 20, 2018: 1. The eight-hour TWA noise level measured for an employee positioned along the Shell Belt Inspection Line, exposed to continuous noise for 358 minutes, was 94 decibels measured on the A-weighted scale . Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of 122 minutes. 2. The eight-hour TWA noise level measured for an employee positioned along the Clean & Prep Salvage Belt Inspection Line, exposed to continuous noise for 346 minutes was 94 decibels measured on the A-weighted scale . Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of 134 minutes. 3. The eight-hour TWA noise level measured for an employee positioned along the Clean & Prep Salvage Belt Inspection Line (tongue separation / belly press), exposed to continuous noise for 349 minutes was 95 decibels measured on the A-weighted scale . Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of 131 minutes. 4. The eight-hour TWA noise level measured for an employee positioned along the White Room Pack Out Line, exposed to continuous noise for 323 minutes was 92 decibels measured on the A-weighted scale . Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of 157 minutes. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit abatement certification, required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
