OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and fall hazards posed by wooden roof trusses that collapsed: (a) Employees conducting framing carpentry work, did not ensure that wooden roof trusses were braced and secured during the setting of the roof trusses on a multi-family residential building. This exposed the employees conducting framing carpentry work to struck-by and fall hazards.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): (a) Employees setting pre-manufactured trusses were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12 feet. The employer did not ensure the fall protection plan in place was specific to the jobsite and the proper bracing of the trusses being set was discussed. The Squared Away Builders, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1126309, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 30, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at N52 W21429 Golfview Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.
