OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to molten metal burn hazards due to the malfunctioning furnace tilt controls.    a. Bunting Bearings, LLC located in Delta, Ohio:  On or about December 1,2017 the employer did not ensure the furnace controls for #3 melting furnace were functioning properly and automatically returning to their off position when the manual initiating force is removed.  The melting furnace would slowly raise up if employees did not place a rubber band over the initiating control circuit.    b. Bunting Bearings, LLC located in Delta, Ohio:  On or about December 8, 2017 the employer did not ensure the furnace controls for #4 melting furnace were functioning properly and automatically returning to their off position when the manual initiating force is removed.  The melting furnace would slowly raise up if employees did not place a rubber band over the initiating control circuit.

Bunting Bearings, LLC located in Delta, Ohio:  On or about April 26, 2018 the employer did not ensure the natural gas coupling for the 3 inch supply line to the #2 tundish furnace was equipped with functioning cam locking levers to prevent the gas line from separating from the furnace.     b. Bunting Bearings, LLC located in Delta, Ohio:  On or about April 26, 2018 the employer did not ensure the natural gas coupling for the 3 inch supply line to the #6 tundish furnace was equipped with functioning cam locking levers to prevent the gas line from separating from the furnace.

Bunting Bearings, LLC located in Delta, Ohio:  On or about December 8, 2017, the employer did not ensure the walk way behind the Bruger horizontal caster, located in building #3, was free of tripping hazards.  Employees use this area to access pneumatic and water shut off valves on the caster and are exposed to the trip hazards caused by the hydraulic and water lines running across the floor.
