29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. a. On or about December 13, 2017, at the above referenced worksite, employees were engaged in demolition activities on an awning approximately 8 feet above the next lower surface where employees on the ground (and in a scissor lift)were exposed to falling/flying debris. The employer failed to ensure employees were protected by helmets / hard hats. There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.
