On 12/12/2017, at The Villages at Duluth jobsite located at 3465 Duluth Hwy. 120, Duluth, Georgia the employer failed to exercise their due diligence by not providing for frequent and regular inspections by a competent person so as to prevent hazards from occurring, including falls during framing and siding activities: a. An employee was observed exposed to fall hazards over 37-feet while working at an exposed patio deck without fall protection, b. An employee was observed exposed to fall hazards over 10-feet while working at an exposed patio deck without fall protection.

Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. An employee was observed exposed to fall hazards over 37-feet while performing residential construction flashing installation from an exposed patio deck without guardrail systems, safety net system or personal fall arrest system. b. An employee was observed exposed to fall hazards over 10-feet while performing residential construction flashing installation from an exposed patio deck without guardrail systems, safety net system or personal fall arrest system.
