29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. (a) Machine guarding was not provided to protect employees from ingoing nip points and rotating parts hazards. The "Puppy Pad machine 1" was set up with interlocks but the employer did not insure that they were functional during operations. This exposed the employees to caught in hazards while clearing the machine housing of overrun product. (b) Machine guarding was not provided to protect employees from ingoing nip points and rotating parts hazards. The "Puppy Pad machine 2" was set up with interlocks but the employer did not insure that they were functional during operations. This exposed the employees to caught in hazards while clearing the machine housing of overrun product. (c) Machine guarding was not provided to protect employees from ingoing nip points and rotating parts hazards. The "Puppy Pad machine 3" was set up with interlocks but the employer did not insure that they were functional during operations. This exposed the employees to caught in hazards while clearing the machine housing of overrun product. (d) Machine guarding was not provided to protect employees from ingoing nip points and rotating parts hazards.
