Instance 2) For the employees cleaning and changing out the platen on Line 2 Absolyte Assembly on or about January 30, 2018 and times prior there to, the employer did not provide guarding that prevented employees from being able to reach into the point of operation of the heated platen.

29 CFR 1910.147(a)(2)(ii)(B): An employee was required to place a part of his or her body into an area on a machine or piece of equipment where work was actually performed upon the material being processed (point of operation) or where an associated danger zone existed during a machine operating cycle. For the employees required to perform minor tool changes and adjustments, and other minor servicing activities to the line 2 cell assembly, heat sealer on or about January 30, 2018 and times prior there to, the employer did not provide protections that effectively protected employees from the energized points of operation.
