29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: Laser Cutting Department - On or about February 28, 2018, an authorized employee was exposed to being struck in the head after bypassing guards during a loader malfunction at the North Mazak Laser Machine. The employer did not adequately train such authorized employees on the safe application, usage, and removal of energy controls by the use of a Lockout/Tagout procedure. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
