29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting.    a) On or about March 26, 2018, fire extinguishers used to fight a fire that was beyond an incipient stage, in that 12 fire extinguishers were utilized, at David J. Joseph Company dba River Metals Recycling LLC, by employees and patrons located at the site.  The company's educational program did not familiarized employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with putting out only incipient stage fires versus fully developed fires.
