The safety data sheet specified that body protection in the form of boots, acid resistant protective clothing, full head, face, and neck protection, and an apron be worn by employees. Only their normal clothing was worn.

Employees were provided with nitrile gloves for the dispensing and cleaning process. Nitrile gloves are forbidden by the chemical's safety data sheet. Consequently, employees were exposed to corrosive chemical burns.
