29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest systems. On 4/10/2018, Vandegriffe Roofing Co., Inc. was installing shingles on a roof of a residential building located on lot 10A on Cabot Court in Wentzville, MO. The owner and two employees were not utilizing guardrail systems, a safety net system, or personal fall arrest systems. They were observed on a 10/12 sloped roof of the building approximately nine feet above the ground without fall protection, exposing them to a fall to the ground below. Vandegriffe Roofing Co., Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1208113, citation number 1, item number 2, issued on 2/23/2017, and was affirmed as a final order on 3/13/2017, with respect to with respect to a workplace located on Ramblewood Way in Wentzville, MO.
