Aurora, CO 80011: On and preceding May 2nd, 2018, the employer did not ensure that the point of operation of a Rigid BS 14002 Vertical Band Saw was guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycles. QA and sales employees use the Rigid Vertical band saw to cut samples for QA testing and presentation to customers. The band saw has an adjustable guard installed which is left in the full up position which leaves 2-5" of exposed blade when making cuts. This exposes employees to caught-in hazards.
