29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Main Saw Area, on or about 5/16/18: Conveyor belt with metal lacings and pulley parts were not fully guarded on the Brewer gang saw waste belt in that there were openings on the sides of the belt at the tail pulley. b) Main Saw Area, on or about 5/16/18: Ingoing nip points at the infeed chain on the Brewer multi trim saw were not adequately guarded in that the existing guard did not enclose the nip points between the chain and sprocket. c) Main Saw Area, on or about 5/16/18: Conveyor belt with metal lacings and pulley parts were not guarded at the notcher feed conveyor coming off from the gang saw conveyor. d) Pallet Line #1, on or about 5/16/18: Ingoing nip points at the infeed chain to stacker were not guarded. e) Pallet Line #2, on or about 5/16/18: Ingoing nip points at the infeed chain to stacker were not guarded. Abatement certification must be submitted for these items.
