29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail and one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge. On or about May 24, 2018, employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 10 feet while performing roofing activities on a residential condominium located at 7203 Euclid, Cleveland, Ohio 44105. The employees were using a staircase to access the rooftop and the employer did not ensure that the staircase, which was 9 risers high, was equipped with at least one handrail.
