29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): A complete periodic inspection of crane(s) had not been conducted in the past 12 months: a) At the exterior of the Melt Section the 7.5 ton Ace World Companies Gantry Crane (S/N 25117) and the 7.5 ton Shepherd Niles Gantry Crane (S/N 68152) have not had and/or have documented Periodic Inspections as required. The latest Periodic Inspection records are dated 2008. Employees are exposed to a struck-by hazard. b) In the interior of the foundry areas numerous smaller cranes/hoists that are used in harsh foundry conditions have not had and/or have documented Periodic Inspections. The latest Periodic Inspection records are dated 2008. Employees are exposed to a struck-by hazard.
