29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): (1) All places of employment were not kept clean and orderly: a) Ironing Area: Employees performing maintenance on a Jensen Ironer machine was involved in a fire due to accumulations of explosive cotton lint present in and around the motor section of the machine. The employer did not ensure that the area was kept free of accumulations of explosive cotton lint, on or about 5/30/18 and 5/31/18. b) Drying/Washing Area: Employees are required to operate drying machines. In the vicinity where drying/washing machines are located, there were accumulations of explosive cotton lint that settled on horizontal surfaces, including but not limited to, floors and on top of an electrical disconnect panel. The employer did not ensure that the area where employees performing work, was kept clean and free of accumulations of cotton lint, on or about 5/30/18 and 5/31/18.
