29 CFR 1926.1052(a)(3): Variations in riser height or tread depth were over 1/4-inch (0.6 cm) in any stairway system: a) Building SP-48, Naval Station Norfolk: On or about 06/06/2018, subcontractor employees were required to use a stairway made of cinderblock to access a working surface. The top riser to the working surface was 9 inches compared to the 7-inch risers below. No abatement certification or documentation required.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with one handrail: a) Building SP-48, Naval Station Norfolk: On or about 06/06/2018, a stairway system consisting of 4 risers rising 31.5 inches from top landing to bottom landing was not equipped with a handrail on either of its opened sides. No abatement certification or documentation required.
