29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.  a) On or about June 05, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were not protected from hazards associated with falling of flying objects. The employer failed to ensure employees wore hard hats or provide other means of protection. Employees were thereby exposed to head injury from falling / flying tools or material.     There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(2): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection that provides side protection when there is a hazard from flying objects.  a) On or about June 05, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were operating pneumatic nail guns. Employees were not protected from eye injuries. The employer failed to ensure employees wore safety glasses, or other means of protection. Employees were thereby exposed to eye injuries.  There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.  a) On or about June 05, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were not protected from fall hazards. The employer failed to ensure employees wore Personal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS), or deployed other means of protection. Employees were thereby exposed to injury from falls of approximately 9 feet.     There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.
