29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: (a) Employees working on the DoAll Metal Cutting Band Saw (Model #C-916M and Serial #527-96135) were exposed to a caught-on hazard and amputation injury while wearing gloves. The employer did not assess the workplace to determine when using personal protective equipment (gloves) created a greater risk to the operator.
