29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail:  a) First Floor Stairway - Employees were using a stairway that measured 35 inches wide, with 18 risers, with a total rise of 10 feet, 2 inches and there was no handrail, on or about 06/22/2018.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).

In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):  a) Roof Section - Employees were installing a polyethylene cover on a flat roof that measured 30 feet by 40 feet and not protected from a 20 feet fall hazard, on or about 06/22/2018.  Progressive Builders, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1261260, Citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/04/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 302 16th Street, NE Washington DC 20007.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
