29 CFR 1926.303(b)(1): Grinding machines were not equipped with safety guards in conformance with the requirements of American National Standards Institute, B7.1-1970, Safety Code for the Use, Care and Protection of Abrasive Wheels, and paragraph (d) of this section: a. 149 Providence St., Staten Island, NY - Front of house The employer did not ensure that hand held power tools were guarded. An employee engaged in masonry work to the foundation was observed cutting stone using a DeWalt hand held grinder without a guard. Violation observed on or about June 29, 2018
