29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer failed to access the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Date of Violation: On or about 08-07-2018 and times prior thereto, located at Big Stone Gap Federal Building 322 Wood Avenue W. Big Stone Gap, VA 24219, Condition: The employer did not ensure that Main Real Estate Management, LLC and Northern Management Services, Inc. employees charged with overseeing the jobsite and enforcing safety rules and regulations were properly trained. GSA failed to inspect and oversee a sewage leak clean-up operation where unprotected and untrained contractor employees were exposed to raw sewage. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
