29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    (a) The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC located at 701 North Main Street Brighton, CO 80601:  On and preceding 8/10/2018, the employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards created by a screw conveyor blade.  Employees using a sliding door to regulate flow of sugar into a screw conveyor look through a grate located above the conveyor.  The grate openings allow the worker to fit their fingers through and contact the moving sugar and blades.  The following condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards.
