29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were not used only for the purpose for which they were designed. On or about 8/23/2018, Samuelson Exteriors was installing siding on a residence located on lot 52 Carolyn Circle in Wright City, MO. Two workers were installing siding while working from scaffolding which consisted of ladder jack scaffolding and a six foot portable ladder. The scaffolding was constructed with ladder jacks positioned on the outsides and a portable ladder in the center to support two scaffold planks. The portable ladder was not used for purpose for which it was designed.

On or about 8/23/2018, Samuelson Exteriors was installing siding on a residence located on lot 52 Carolyn Circle in Wright City, MO. Two workers were working from ladder jack scaffolding on the side of the house approximately eleven feet above the ground. The ladder jack scaffolding consisted of three ladders and two platforms. The platforms were bridged together on the center ladder.
