29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3): Point of operation guard were not provided: (a) Shear points were exposed when the Challenge paper cutter was operated. There was no guarding of the cutter blade edge. These conditions were noted on or about 09/06/2018. Examples of guarding methods include but are not limited to barrier guards, two hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. (b) A foot control was not correctly guarded on the Challenge paper drill (style RH, serial number 30109, ID number H8509) to prevent accidental activation by another employee or by falling material. These conditions were noted on or about 09/06/2018. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this condition is to use a foot control with some type of guard or other safeguarding device.
