29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  COMPANY-WIDE:  On or about September 13, 2018, a newly-hired maintenance employee was not provided with Hazard Communication training prior to being assigned to perform plumbing repairs on the wastewater treatment pumps.  The employee sustained second and third degree chemical burns to her right knee and lower leg after kneeling in a puddle of 20% sodium hydroxide.  Metal Finishing Technologies, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1178452, citation number 1, item number 4b and was affirmed as a final order on November 23, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 60 Wooster Court, Bristol, CT.
