29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about November 6, 2018, and at times prior, workers were exposed to belt and pulley nip point hazards at the discharge end of the plaque washer. b) On or about November 6, 2018, and at times prior, workers were exposed to belt and end-roller nip point hazards at the discharge end of a conveyor in use at the cellophane heart line. Abatement Note: a) This condition was corrected during the inspection; Abatement Note: b) Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
