29 CFR 1910.157(g)(2): The educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting was not provided to all employees upon initial employment, and at least annually thereafter: a) Scheerer Bearing - On or about November 27, 2018, employees using flammable liquids such as, but not limited to, Safety-Kleen Solvent to clean metal bearings were provided fire extinguishers to use during incipient stage fire fighting, but the employer did not provide initial training and or annually thereafter as required. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. ABATEMENT NOTE: By this date the employer must either correct the alleged violation or implement a Fire Safety Policy, as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.38(a) and (b) which included the evacuation requirement of 29 CFR 1910.157(b).

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) Scheerer Bearing - On or about November 27, 2018, an employee was using a compressed air nozzle to blow residual coolant and metal debris off of machined parts that had a dead end pressure in excess of 85 psi, exposing the employee to compressed air hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Scheerer Bearing - On or about November 27, 2018, employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals, such as but not limited to Safety-Kleen Solvent, and the employer did not provide effective information and training on hazards of such chemicals as required. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. ABATEMENT NOTE: Employees shall be informed of the following: 1. The requirements of this section; 2. Any operations where hazardous chemicals are present; 3. The location and availability of the written Hazard Communication Program, list(s) of hazardous chemicals and Safety Data Sheets.
