29 CFR 1910.184(f)(5)(iii): Wire rope sling(s) that had kinking, crushing, bird caging or other damage resulting in distortion of the wire rope structure were not immediately removed from service: Main Crane: On or about November 27, 2018 and at times prior thereto, two (2), six (6)-foot wire rope slings showed evidence of kinking, bird-caging, thimble crushing, and flattening. This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards in the event of sling failure.
