At a minimum, the employer shall provide additional medical evaluations that comply with the requirements of this section if: Information from the respiratory protection program, including observations made during fit testing and program evaluation, indicates a need for employee reevaluation: a) On December 18, 2018, a 14 Foot Frame Up Welder in the GTT Area had not been medical evaluated since February 24, 2016 for wearing respiratory protection when exposed to 130% of the permissible exposure limit for copper fume and to 110% of the permissible exposure limit for iron oxide fume. The 14 foot frame Up Welder was wearing a 3M 9100 PAPR which is designed for welding operations. The Respirator Approval had a recommended time period for next questionnaire/exam of 1 year.

An employee's exposure to any substance in Table Z-1, the exposure limit of which is not preceded by a "C", shall not exceed the 8-hour Time Weighted Average given for that substance any 8-hour work shift of a 40-hour work week. The 8-hour Time Weighted Average exposure limit for Copper Fume is 0.1 mg/M3: a) On December 18, 2018, a 14 Foot Frame Up Welder was exposed to 0.13 mg/M3 of Copper Fume over a 442 minute time period. A 442 time weighted average is equivalent to an 8-hour Time Weighted Average of 0.13 mg/M3 which is 130% of the Copper Fume 8-hour Time Weighted Average exposure limit of 0.1 mg/M3.

A 442 time weighted average is equivalent to an 8-hour Time Weighted Average of 11 mg/M3 which is 110% of the Iron Oxide Fume 8-hour Time Weighted Average exposure limit of 10 mg/M3.
