29 CFR 1910.178(o)(1): Only stable or safely arranged loads shall be handled. Caution shall be exercised when handling off-center loads which cannot be centered. East, Big Ticket department, Crown TR 4500 tuggers and Nutting steer trailers (floats): on or about December 31, 2018, tugger operators and other employees working in the area of moving floats with bedding and scrap packaging materials were exposed to hazards associated with unsafe load handling. The male-type hook couplers (tongues) installed on the floats were not compatible with the tuggers' spring-loaded pin-and-clevis hitches, so use of the packaging tape rolls was permitted as tow hitch adapters between the floats and tuggers. Abatement certification was required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
