OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the unintentional release of pressure while installing a water pipeline: Reclaimed Water Project at Schilt Avenue and Edson Street, MCAS Miramar: On January 2, 2019, employee(s) were extending a water pipeline in a trench without de-pressurizing the system prior to removing the pipe cap. An employee was exposed to struck-by hazards when up to 80 psi of pressure unintentionally released and the 12-inch diameter iron cap struck him, resulting in hospitalization for his injuries.
