29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed: A. On or about March 7, 2019, Warehouse: In the following instances, exit routes were not kept clear to allow easy access in case of emergency: 1. Access to the emergency exit in the center of the warehouse, near the PTR Baler & Compactor, was reduced by the placement of a cart full of cardboard, a white tote of recycled cardboard, and two waste barrels. The items in storage reduced the exit route to 22 inches wide. Yellow markings on the floor clearly identified the exit route. 2. A pallet loaded with two stacks of plastic totes was placed in the exit route from the general merchandise storage mezzanine at the bottom of the 22-riser 44-inch wide stairs. The storage reduced the exit route to 22 inches.
