29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 paragraph (b) or (c) of this section.   a) Corner of Northern Blvd and Contractor Drive, Montgomery AL; On or about March 6, 2019 and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to cave-in hazards in that employees were allowed to work inside of a trench measuring twelve feet deep, twenty-two feet wide, and seventy-three feet in length that was dug in class "b" soil. The employer had not complied with the standard in that employees were not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system and the excavation was sloped at an angle steeper than one and one-half horizontal to one vertical (thirty-four degrees measured to the horizontal).
