OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employees were exposed to vehicles falling from or shifting on automotive lifts: In the following instances, employees were exposed to the hazards of falling and / or shifting vehicles: a) Garage - Automotive lifts were not safely operated and vehicles were not properly supported, balanced, or mounted. b) Garage - Two AMMCO auto Lifts were not inspected annually. c) Garage - The AMMCO auto lift, located in bay two, had a defective locking mechanism. d) Garage - The Hunter alignment lift was not inspected annually. e) Garage - The pistons on the Hunter alignment lift were defective.
