29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. JOBSITE: The employee removing grate decking while standing on the edge of a storage rack system was not protected from falling approximately 12 feet 1 inch to the lower floor level by the use of guardrails, personal fall arrest system or other equivalent means. On or about 03/13/2019, the employee fell to the floor while performing the above task and sustained severe spinal fractures, cracked pelvis, broken hand and fingers. EDR Pro Installers, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard {29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1)}, which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1358892, Citation Number 01, Item Number 003 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/03/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1900 IKEA Way, Columbus, OH 43240.
