29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguards designed to protect employees during an emergency were not in working order.  In the following locations, employees were not provided with ceiling smoke barriers to subdivide building spaces for the purpose of restricting the movement of smoke:  a) First Floor, Northeast Corner of Building: The ceiling smoke barrier was missing b) Second Floor, Hallway: The ceiling smoke barrier was missing c) Third Floor, Hallway: The ceiling smoke barrier was missing  Employees were exposed to smoke inhalation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  Employees used kitchen appliances to heat or refrigerate food. The following appliances were plugged into a Relocatable Power Tap (RPT), potentially exceeding the amperage capacity due open/available plugs; and violating the manufacturer's instructions to use the RPT with low amperage equipment such as computers and peripheral equipment:  a) First Floor, Staff Storage Room: MicroFridge refrigerator (120V, 60Hz, 1.5 amps) was plugged into the RPT with a load capacity of 15-amps b) First Floor, Staff Storage Room: Mr. Coffee coffee maker (120V, 60Hz, 7.5 amps) was plugged into the RPT with a load capacity of 15-amps  Employees were exposed to smoke inhalation hazards from electrical fire.  The U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1255973, citation number 2 item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on March 9, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at Old NC Highway 75, Butner, North Carolina 27509.  The U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1170381, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on March 10, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 777 Hickory Flats Road, Pennington Gap, Virginia 24277.
