29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain programs which provided for frequent and regular inspections of the job site, materials and equipment to be made by a competent person(s): a) Jobsite: On April 2, 2019 and times prior thereto the controlling employer, A & A Construction & Development, did not ensure their sub-contractors protected their employees from the improper use of electrical equipment. The weekly site inspections conducted by the controlling employer did not identify and correct a portable power distribution unit, spider box, that was hanging by a power cord from a temporary power pole. b) Jobsite: On April 2, 2019 and times prior thereto the controlling employer, A & A Construction & Development, did not ensure their sub-contractors protected their employees from potential shock and fire hazards where cardboard and other material was used as a cover for energized power panels. The weekly site inspections conducted by the controlling employer did not identify and correct the potential fire hazard. c) Jobsite: On April 2, 2019 and times prior thereto the controlling employer, A & A Construction & Development, did not ensure their sub-contractors protected their employees from protruding nails in boards laying on the ground. The weekly site inspections conducted by the controlling employer did not identify and correct the housekeeping hazard. d) Jobsite: On April 2, 2019 and times prior thereto the controlling employer, A & A Construction & Development, did not ensure their sub-contractors protected their employees from unguarded fans on the Cadet Com-Pak wall heaters used in several units. The weekly site inspections conducted by the controlling employer did not identify and correct the missing front covers on the heaters. Note) Certification of corrective actions are required for these items.
