29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   330 Argonne, Kirkwood:  Employer is exposing employees to hazardous conditions.  The employees are permitted to work on roofs without using fall protection systems where the fall distance is greater than 6 feet.   On 04/02/2019 employees were exposed to a fall distance of approximately 12 feet 4 inches from eaves of the roof to ground level while conducting residential roofing activities without using fall protection systems.  The AS PROFESSIONAL ROOFING CONTRACTORS LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1167830, citation number 01, item number 03 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/15/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 2651 Welsch Drive, Shiloh, Illinois 62269.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  330 Argonne Avenue, Kirkwood: Employer is exposing employees to hazardous conditions.  The employees are permitted to use a ladder with side rails that are not extended a minimum of 3 feet above the landing surface.    On 04/02/2019 employees used a ladder which was not extended, at least, 3 feet above a roof.  The side rails of the ladder used by employees to access the roof extended 1 1/2 feet above the roof.  The roof eave was approximately 12 feet 4 inches from ground level.  The As Professional Roofing Contractors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1167830, citation number 01, item number 05 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/15/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 2651 Welsch Drive, Shiloh, IL 62269.
