29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a) Processing Area: Employees were using a Biro model 4436 band saw to process animal carcasses while the guard was positioned 3 to 6 inches above the piece being cut, exposing the employee to an amputation hazard, on or about April 15, 2019. b) Processing Area: Employees were using a Biro industrial band saw to process animal carcasses while the adjustable guard was positioned about 3 to 6 inches above the piece being cut, exposing the employee to an amputation hazard, on or about April 15, 2019. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED USA Pork Packers, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Administration standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1112783, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/8/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 328 S. Wyoming St, Hazleton, PA.
