29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): (1) Unprotected sides and edges. (i) Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the following: a. At the worksite located at 3975 Townsfair Way, Columbus, OH 43219, the employer did not ensure that employees who were cleaning grease from restaurant exhaust systems were protected from fall hazards. On or about April 9, 2019, an employee suffered a fractured foot injury when he fell from a height of approximately 10 feet. Averus, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.28(b)(1)(i) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1345762, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 25, 2018 with respect to a workplace located at 842 N. Old World 3rd St., Milwaukee, WI 53203.
