29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): An educational program was not provided for all employees to familiarize them with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting: a) Amazon Services - On or about April 5, 2019, employees using flammable liquids, such as but not limited to isopropyl alcohol, were provided fire extinguishers to use during incipient stage fire fighting, and the employer did not provide an educational program as required. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. ABATEMENT NOTE: By this date the employer must either correct the alleged violation or implement a Fire Safety Policy, as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.38(a) and (b) which included the evacuation requirement of 29 CFR 1910.157(b).

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical: a) Amazon Services - On or about April 5, 2019, employees were utilizing isopropyl alcohol, a hazardous chemical, to clean items at the Pop Socket Station. Employees on various shifts were utilizing this chemical from an unlabeled spray bottle exposing the employees to burn hazards from fire and chemical hazards of the skin and eyes. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The employer was placing dozens of unlabeled plastic containers of waste ink in a large gaylord box that was also unlabeled. The stationary waste gaylord container was not labeled as required by the standard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
