29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): The employer failed to provide a hand tool for placing and removing material to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided. a) On or about April 26, 2019, the employer failed to provide and require the use of a special handtool, such as a push-plate or paddle for employees to use when cutting ice on the Biro band saw. The employees were thereby exposed to laceration and amputation hazards.
