29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): The employer failed to provide a hand tool for placing and removing material to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided.    a)  On or about August 16, 2019, the employer failed to require the use of a special handtool, such as a push-plate or paddle for employees to use when cutting ice on the Biro model 3334 band saw.  Employees were thereby exposed to laceration and amputation hazards.    Elevation Global Industries, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard, 1910.212(a)(3)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1397709, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 19, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 2010 W. Fulton Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612.
