29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed part(s) of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform were not protected by stationary casing(s) enclosing shafting completely or by trough(s) enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting: (a) For the employees packaging and taping boxes of precooked chicken on or about May 6, 2019 and times prior thereto in plant #2 on Line #1 of the packaging line. The employer did not guard a rotating drive shaft to the bag conveyor. This exposed employees to being caught in an exposed rotating shaft located between the gear box and the conveyor belt.
