29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to airborne concentrations of particulates not otherwise regulated (PNOR) respirable fraction, listed in Table Z-1, in excess of the 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) concentration of 5 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3): (a) Manual Weld Booth #9; On June 27, 2019 an employee welding was exposed to respirable particulates at an 8-hour TWA of 6.9266 mg/m3 [1.385 times the permissible exposure limit of 5 mg/m3]. Sampling was performed for 471 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the 9 minute period not sampled. (b) Weld 05-IA; On June 27, 2019 an employee welding was exposed to respirable particulates at an average concentration of 6.9210 mg/m3 [1.384 times the permissible exposure limit of 5 mg/m3]. This exposure was derived over 490 minutes.

29 CFR 1910.1000(e): Feasible administrative or engineering controls were not determined and implemented to achieve compliance with the limits prescribed in 29 CFR 1910.1000(a) through (d): (a) Manual Weld Booth #9; The employer did not implement adequate administrative or engineering controls to ensure employee(s) exposure to particulates not otherwise regulated (respirable fraction) did not exceed 5 mg/m3 of air as an 8-hour TWA. This violation occurred on June 27, 2019 where an employee welding was exposed to respirable particulates at an 8-hour TWA of 6.9266 mg/m3 [1.385 times the permissible exposure limit of 5 mg/m3]. Sampling was performed for 471 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the 9 minute period not sampled.
